Domain transfer procedures.
- What is an Authorization Code (Auth Code)?
This is a code required to transfer domains between registrars. You must request it from the current registrar before initiating the transfer.
- How do I transfer a .es domain?
- Request the Auth Code from your current Registrar Agent.
- Make sure you have access to the Administrative Contact (PCA) email.
- Start the transfer in your management panel.
- Red.es will send an email to the PCA for validation.
- The PCA must accept the transfer in Red.es.
- The transfer is made automatically.
- If it is not approved within 10 calendar days, the transfer is cancelled.
- Recommendation: Start the transfer 15 days before expiration.
- How do I transfer generic domains (.COM, .NET, .ORG, etc.)?
- The domain must be unlocked and have the Auth Code.
- Enter the domain and Auth Code in the "Transfer domain" section.
- Pay the transfer request.
- An email will be sent to the administrative contact and owner; one of them must accept it.
- The transfer is completed in a maximum of 5 days if there are no problems.
- The domain must be registered at least 60 days ago and 60 days since the last transfer.
- The domain is automatically renewed for one more year from the expiration date.
- How to transfer a .CAT domain?
- The .CAT domain must be unlocked and have an Auth Code.
- Enter the domain and Auth Code in "Transfer Domains".
- Pay for the transfer request.
- An email will be sent to the administrative contact and owner; one of them must accept it.
- The transfer is completed in a maximum of 5 days.
- The domain must be registered at least 60 days ago and 60 days since the last transfer.
- The domain is automatically renewed for one more year from the expiration date.
- How do I transfer a .EU domain?
- Request the Auth Code from the current registrar and unlock the domain.
- Start the transfer from "Transfer Domain".
- Add the DNS servers to prevent the domain from going down after the transfer.
- If the Auth Code is correct, the transfer is done automatically.
- What happens if the Auth Code is incorrect?
The transfer request will fail and remain pending. You can correct it from the "Requests" section by entering the correct Auth Code.
- Can I transfer a domain that has expired?
No, expired domains cannot be transferred. Please make sure the domain is active before initiating the transfer.
