Allowed characters:
- Minimum: 3
- Maximum: 63
- Letters and numbers.
- Hyphens ("-"), Hyphens are not allowed before or after the domain name..
The registration is done for a year.

How to renew

To renew a ccTLD domain .jp from Japan the domain must be on the renewal period and it can be renewed for one year.
The renewal period starts 60 days before the expiration date and you can renew the domain until 30 days before the expiration date.

How to transfer

To transfer a ccTLD domain .jp it is necessary:
- The actual registrar must confirm the transfer.
- The domain must have been registered/active for at least 30 days.
