How to register

To register a ccTLD domain .de from Germany it is necessary:
- The previous configuration of the DNS. Primary DNS server must have an IP range different to the IP’s secondary DNS.
- The domain holder or administrative contact must be domiciled in Germany. If you don’t have a contact in Germany, Entorno Digital can provide one with the local contact service.

Allowed characters:
- Minimum: 3
- Maximum: 63
- Letters and numbers.
- Hyphens ("-"), Hyphens are not allowed before or after the domain name.

The domain supports IDN registry.
The registration is done for a year.

How to renew

To renew a ccTLD domain .de from Germany the domain must be on the renewal period and it can be renewed for one year.
The renewal period starts 32 days before the expiration date and you can pay 2 days before expiration date. If you don't renew the domain in the period, we'll release it.
Restore is not available, because DENIC proceeds to release immediately, so others can register.

How to transfer

To transfer a ccTLD domain .de it is necessary:
- Auth code. This code must be facilitated by the actual registry.
- The domain must have been registered/active for at least 30 days.
- The domain must be un-locked for transfer by the actual registry. If so, the client must contact the current registrar to un-lock the domain for transfer.
When a domain .de is transferred it is renewed for another year since the transference date and the transfer. The process usually completes within 5 and 10 days.
We suggest you transfer your domain name enough days before expiration in order to avoid your transfer being denied.
